Privacy Notice

This notice explains what happens to your data on this site. It matters more here than on an ordinary website, because the answers you give in the Kink Test and the Compass reveal your sexual preferences. Under Article 9 of the GDPR that is a special category of personal data and it is treated accordingly: it is processed only with your explicit consent, it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone beyond the processors named below.

2. Access and age confirmation
This site is the private companion to the book and is protected by a password. When you sign in we check the password on the server and set a session cookie so you do not have to sign in again on every page. The cookie is technically necessary, it contains no advertising identifier, and it expires when the session ends.
You also confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We store the fact of that confirmation together with your session, not a copy of any identity document. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in keeping adult material away from minors.
3. Kink Test and Compass results by email
If you ask us to send a result to your inbox, we process:
- the name you enter (a first name or nickname is enough),
- your email address,
- your answers, which describe sexual preferences and limits,
- the technical data needed to deliver the mail, plus the time of your consent.
Legal basis: your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR for the answers, and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for sending the mail. You give it by ticking the consent box; without it nothing is sent and nothing is stored.
Double opt-in: we first send you a confirmation link. Your result is only delivered, and your data only passed to the CRM described below, after you click that link. If you never click it, the pending record is discarded.
4. Who processes data on our behalf
- Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, USA) hosts this site. Server log data such as the IP address is processed to deliver the pages and to defend against attacks (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Upstash, Inc. (USA) provides the key-value store in which pending confirmations and session data are held for a short period.
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC delivers the emails through the Gmail API from the address jonas@magic-magnificus.com.
- Pipedrive OÜ (Tallinn, Estonia) is our CRM. After you confirm, your name and email are written there so we can answer you. Your individual answers are kept to the summary needed for that conversation.
A data processing agreement is in place with each of them. Some of them process data in the USA; those transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
5. Use of AI tools
There is no chatbot and no other AI system on this site that interacts with you. Every text, card and test result you see here was written by a human. If that ever changes, the notice that you are talking to an AI will be visible in the window itself, as required by Article 50(1) of the EU AI Act.
We do use AI tools in our support correspondence, to sort incoming messages and prepare drafts: Anthropic Claude (Anthropic PBC, USA), OpenAI (OpenAI Ireland Ltd., Dublin) and Groq (Groq, Inc., USA). Your Kink Test and Compass answers are never passed to any of them. No decision that affects you is made automatically; a human reads and decides (Article 22 GDPR does not apply).
6. How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed requests: deleted after a few days at the latest.
- Session and access data: until the session ends, log data after 30 days at most.
- Confirmed contact data in the CRM: until you withdraw your consent or object.
- Where tax or commercial law requires retention, we restrict processing instead of deleting.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may at any time request:
- access to your data (Article 15),
- correction (Article 16),
- erasure (Article 17),
- restriction of processing (Article 18),
- portability in a machine-readable format (Article 20),
- and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21).
Withdrawing consent: you can withdraw at any time, informally, by writing to support@magic-magnificus.com. We then delete your answers and your contact record. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of what was done before it. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
8. Discretion
This site carries noindex, nofollow, so it does not appear in search engines. There
is no advertising pixel, no tracking, no web analytics, and no social plugin on it. Our emails
contain no tracking pixel and the subject line does not reveal the content.
9. Encryption
This site uses TLS. You can tell by the lock symbol and the https:// in your address bar. Content you transmit cannot be read by third parties in transit.
